While Office 2010 apps will continue to function, support for Office 2010 will be ending on October 13, 2020. If you have not begun to upgrade your Office 2010 environment yet, it is recommended you start soon.

Like most Microsoft products Office 2010 has a support lifecycle during which bug and security fixes are provided. The lifecycle lasts for a certain number of years from the date of the product’s initial release, in this case, 10 years. This means Microsoft will no longer be providing technical support for issues, bug fixes for any issues that are discovered, or security fixes for any vulnerabilities that are discovered. If you are planning an upgrade, you have options between the latest versions of Office. This includes Microsoft 365 apps or Office 2019. A key difference to note between the two is that Microsoft 365 apps is updated regularly with new features, whereas Office 2019 only includes the same features from when it was released in October 2018.

While Apple’s annual fall event has become fairly predictable over the past few years, there was one item notably missing from this year’s lineup: a new iPhone reveal. With rumors of it coming next month instead, we were able to focus on the other products and services that were announced. This includes new Apple watches, iPad updates, and streaming service bundles. The Apple Watch Series 6 includes two new sensors – a blood oxygen monitoring sensor and an always on altimeter. The Apple Watch SE includes less features but is more budget friendly. The WatchOS 7 update is here, supporting all features for both watch types. The 8th generation iPad received a new processor, but not much else, whereas the iPad Air updates were more significant. Lastly, Apple introduced a new streaming service, Apple Fitness+, and service bundles, Apple One, that include Individual, Family, and Premier levels. Minimum iOS 14 system requirements for Outlook for iOS and watchOS are about to change. With iOS 14 currently in beta, Outlook for iOS is preparing to remove support for iOS 12. Support for watchOS 4 and 5 will also be removed. This means if any of your Outlook devices are running iOS 12 or lower, they will no longer receive Office app updates. While still available to use your older version, once your device is updated to iOS 13 or higher, you will also receive the newest version of Outlook as well as the accompanying support and current updates.
